Going to be in DC sight-seeing in mid-march and was looking for some good places to eat. Arfcom has always came through on other vacations for good places to checkout for lunch and dinner.

Price range is moderate, $25-30 for dinner and $10-15 for lunch would be ideal. But feel free to throw out good places.

We are going to be staying at the Holiday Inn on C Street by all the museums if that helps, but we'll have a car for the far places.

Also, is the metrobus the best way to travel around the National Mall? If it was just me i'd just hoof it, but my dad isn't going to be able to walk 50 miles a day.

ETA: I have already contacted my senator to arrange tours for several things, hopefully they come through.

It's a chain place, but the wife and I really enjoyed this place.

Classier English pub atmosphere, and an excellent beer selection, and very good food.

Use one of the set route tour busses. They run a regular route that passes near most of the main tourist attractions and are user-friendly. The DC metro bus routes are a challenge to decypher and you'll end up in places that aren't user friendly. In DC proper, stick to spots north of the Mall for dining and entertainment. Take the Orange Line on the Metro subway system into Virginia for additional spots to dine. You can also grab the January '12 copy of the Washingtonian magazine which covers the 100 best restaurants. Plenty to choose from in all price ranges.

701 is fantastic. Located on Pennsylvania Ave right behind the Archives, so it is in striking distance to many of the tourist spots on the Mall. A bit pricier than the range you specified, but worth it.

Jaleo in Chinatown is pretty good if you like Spanish/tapas. Yes, "Chinatown" in DC is not limited to Chinese restaurants.
