Moving to Mobile AL, how is the gun climate?

Just found out Uncle Sam is sending us to Mobile for a few years, curious how it is there.
We are coming from commie-fornia, and glad to leave the liberals and laws for days.
Is it hard to get a concealed carry permit? I saw there is no duty to retreat...thats good! Any good local gun shops? Shooting Ranges? We will be looking to purchase some when we get there, likely a pistol or two, and some AR variant....

Just remember to take deep breaths.
Pistol permit is between $7-$20 depending on the county. You can have any gun you want.
SBS,SBR, cans, full auto are all ok.

Mobile permit is $20.00 and 20 Minutes.
( not sure about residency requirements, with orders)
You can carry a gun almost anyplace.
Lots of good Gun stores.
Almost NO place to shoot.
One indoor range, Three if you count Saraland and Daphne.
The closest public outdoor range is an hour away.
A few private clubs with outdoor ranges, one is easy to get in to,
the other, two year or more wait.
