Getting CLEO signature in Alabama, specifically Shelby county

I'm looking into getting a suppressor. I currently live in Shelby county Alabama and I was wondering if anyone else here has gone down this road.

I don't know the Sherriff and he doesn't know me (which I think is a good thing). So I really don't know where he stands on signing the paper work for someone to obtain a suppressor that is not affiliated with any LE organization.

Can anybody that's done this share their experience?

Thank you

Wouldn't hurt to put in a copy of your CCW since the CLEO approved that.

For Madison County, I include a copy of my CCW, and a copy of one of the completed fingerprint cards.

use a trust and just skip all the crap. it's faster all the way around and secures your nfa stuff for your family in the event of your death. it also allows trustees to be in possession of. ie.. you are out of town and your spouse has access to it.

Never run any Class III stuff by him, but he's about the nicest guy you've ever met.

Sheriff Curry's office will sign, although I agree, trust is the way to go
