 Things to do/see near Huntsville?

I've been here about a week on travel but with the weekend here, I figured I'd post here and get some recommendations from some fellow Arfcommers on must see/things to do while in the Huntsville area. The plan is to try and get outdoors since I live in a cube from sunrise to sunset.

Now I did notice Larry's pistol and pawn and was debating a visit to look for some P220 mags. Is it worth stopping in?

Definitely this, and larrys does have some pretty decent prices on ammunition. And occasionally rubs some pretty good specials on firearms. The indoor range is nice too and its only 10 bucks per/hour.

Bridgestreet is nice if you want to go shopping, its mostly girl stores though.

Yes!

Hiking: Rainbow Mountain/Madison, Monte Sano State Park/Huntsville, Wall of Jericho/Scottsboro.

Breakfast: Jacksons Restaurant/Madison (now known as Libby's), until 10 AM, closed on Sundays.

BBQ: Greenbriar, the old one at the new location next to I-565.

Space/Science stuff: Space and Rocket Center

Good luck and have fun!

Appreciate the suggestions all!

I stopped by Larry's and picked up another mag for my Sig. Definitely a nice selection of guns and ammo. Based on the website I was expecting nearly all Ruger items but was pleasantly surprised to find a nice selection.

Merlin, its funny you mentioned hiking. Right after I posted this, I started digging up places to go outdoors. I was tempted to go to Blevin's Gap but took your recommendation and went to Monte Sano for 3 1/2hrs. Definitely well worth the trip!

Glad you had a good time! Did you have to change your shorts after seeing the snake?

Haha no!

Now back home I have run in to copperheads a couple times. They were a bit harder to spot compared to that guy.

Appreciate the heads up but I left town yesterday morning. Definitely would like to come back and see more!
