AIRSHOW MOANG Station Rosecrans
"Sound of SPEED" airshow this weekend at Rosecrans Municipal airport (Rosecrans MOANG STATION) near St Joseph MO
Opens at 10AM both days.
The F22 is supposed to fly a demo.
There will be a J Model 130 on display as well.
The weather will be nice so come out people!
Can't make it because some Einstein scheduled it on the weekend that 90% of the Missouri National Guard has 'drill'.

Glad you enjoyed it! Come out next time!
Anything good on tap tomorrow? Ingress/egress is horrible at Rosecrans. I'd like to check out that J model though. Got to check one out in Gibraltar or Portugal several years back., I think it was a Brit. one. Technology is what it is. But paring down the flight crew, that much was crazy to me.
How did I miss this?! Great weather.....

SERIOUS amounts of thrust! One particular demo I really enjoyed was the plane flying along at such a slow speed that its nose-up angle of attack was greater than 45 degrees using pure thrust vectoring and wing angle instead of aerodynamic lift and air speed to keep it aloft. Then the pilot would just sort of park it midair on its ass, give it the beans and accelerate straight up like a rocket launching.
Then, still flying straight up, he would ease back on the throttle until the plane just about stalled and then simply lay it over on its belly and horizontally accelerate away again. Like I said, SERIOUS amounts of thrust!
Oh, and a shout out to the Italian Air Force for bringing the portable shade for us.
ETA: Mig 17 was very cool to watch as well.
We were coming home from Omaha and happened to see a sign for the show. Glad we stopped as the F-22 was awesome. It's the 1st one I've seen and was just amazed at what its capable of.
maybe this is the reason I saw a stealth bomber fly over head at about 11am on sat morning. it was over the ofallom area

I spent most of Sat evening with an ice-cold washcloth draped over my bright red dome. And a good portion of Sunday as well.

I even managed to get raccoon-eyes despite wearing a wide-brimmed hat all day.
Well no wonder the P51 was so slow compared to the F22. The spinny thing up front wasn't spinning.

No, they were just filling in their range card with your location.

Racoon Eyes are to be expected it being an "Air" show one tends to do a lot of "Looking Up"
But I can't fathom my dome getting reddened with a HAT and an AIRPLANE WING between it and the sun!
Must have been reflective off the Tarmac and the Wing... Dangit!
