 Need night sight installation......

Last time I needed night sights installed, I took my XD to Carolina Shooting Sports and it was a complete nightmare. First they broke both original sights on the gun while trying to remove them. Really no big deal, I was probably not going to use them again anyway. Then, they break my XS night sight while trying to install it. They offered to put another night sight they had in stock on it, but I really wanted the XS sights. So, they said they had to order them and it would take two days to get. Seven days later, they finally get them and install the sights.

The day came to pick up my XD and I see a nice ding and scratch on the slide. They claimed it was already there when I dropped it off. Umm, NO IT WAS NOT!!! After going back and forth about it, hey ended up not charging me for the install. Great, but I still have a nasty ding and scratch on the slide. I would have rather paid for the service and not have a damaged slide.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a place to put night sights on my other XD? Or, does someone have a sight pusher I can borrow for a couple of AR15 magazines?

Thanks!

Part of the issue you will face is that the sights are really hard to switch out ( I think they are a tight press fit and if I am not mistaken the factory also adds some 2 part epoxy on top of a really tight fit)

I have heard of many people that have broken their sight pusher. Pick your gunsmith carefully and I would ask if they have switch sights in a Springfield before as well ( better safe than sorry )

keep me posted as I have an XD 40 4" I would love to switch the sights out for some night sights or some non 3 dot...

Yeah, I've been told the XD's are the worst to get off. I may ask my FFL if you does installations. I will let you know.

Oh and one other thing about my debacle at Carolina Sporting Arms........my first trip to the range after the sight install, my rear sight started sliding all over the place. It does have an allen screw, but even if the screw was removed, the sight should not move around so easily. They definitely filed too much off the rear sight. A blind monkey could have done a better job.
