I'm having to type this on a friends PC.

Mine started operating slow & now won't do anything at all. I really don't want to lose all the photos/etc I have on it.

Good guys,

Excellent work and excellent customer relations.

Right at the I40 end of Hanes Mall Blvd. near wal mart.

I won't take my stuff anywhere else. These guys are trustworthy and their policy of not doing anything you don't consent to is worth serious consideration.

From their "About":

Our technicians make computer service and repair (nearly) painless

Our service department is different than some stores in that we offer flat rate pricing on in-store service. We will give you an estimate before we begin work and call you if anything changes. We will not do anything that you don't consent to.
Since we clean the dust out of every computer that comes in for service, we sometimes find problems with failing capacitors that would otherwise be overlooked. A few dollars to fix an issue that saves the motherboard or video card before it fails completely is a huge money saver. Of course, we will call you first and ask if you want us to replace any bad capacitors.
The computer repair technicians at Dragonware all have different certifications, focuses, and specialties. We do not work on a commission system, so our techs will let the one most qualified for a particular problem work on your computer.
Our goal in the service department is to make your computer work better than ever.

Whether you are looking at our sales or our services, you should know this about Dragonware Computers: all of our employees are chosen with the greatest emphasis on their personality and integrity. Honesty and integrity is what Dragonware is all about.

If you're worried about losing stuff, just take your hard drive out of it and buy a USB>Hard drive adapter from New egg or the like.

I called Staples & they said it was $150 for virus removal.

Is that a standard rate?

The folks at the big box stores DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING about computers!! I brought a hard drive into best buy for recovery one time and the girl spent 20 min looking for a firewire to USB cable........ I just asked for my drive back and walked out the door....
