Just wondering where to get info on what to do and not to do in Oregon with my handgun?
Am I ok to bring it with me and what are the rules to follow?
Oregon doesn't recognize any other state's concealed handgun licences, so if you have one from WA, don't carry here. Open carry however is legal except where prohibited by local statute. Full size magazines are a-ok.
Any restrictions on AR or long rifles ? Was thinking of taking atleast an AR just for shooting at some range in beaverton. Will be visiting from TX in June or July.

We have no assault weapons ban, in all, Oregon is a pretty good state to be a gun owner.
If you have enough time before your visit, apply for a non-resident CHL (Only applies to border state residents).
They can be obtained, and will grant you full concealed carry rights while you visit.
When you're in your car, your hand gun must be either locked up where it's not readily accessible, or in plain view, like sitting on the car seat. That's without a CHL.
I would suggest checking the laws yourself by the way.
