I realized that the flag I fly outside the house today has become torn and tattered

A new one from Annin Flags has been ordered, but I want to ensure the old one is properly disposed of. I don't have the means to burn it.

Does anyone know of a good, patriotic group that would do a proper disposal in the Eugene/Springfield area?

VFW, American Legion, Boy Scouts, or Girl Scouts.
I may be mistaken, but I believe the Flag Code allows for burial of the flag in a container, as long as respect is shown and done discreetly.

You're in Eugene, I'm sure there are plenty of hippies that will burn it for ya!

it is always the VFW, they have a ceremony for it that is properly done as accorded by various organizations.

I will definitely look into a local VFW. I think I'll likely have the best luck with that.

I would get ahold of the VFW in springfield on Main street.
