Email from the match director:
Saturday should be a great day for a 3 Gun match. If we get a break on the weather, we should be looking at a high of 78 with only a 35% chance of precip and thunderstorms. The low is only supposed to be in the 60’s, so shouldn’t be too bad to get started. I’m attending a class locally, so Adam Townsend will be running this match.
Planning on 5-6 stages. We’ll keep the stages brief and to the point. Looking to be able to finish up by 1430.
If you bring 75 rifle/70 handgun/50 birdshot/20 slugs/10 buckshot (00) rounds, you should be good to cover all the stages. Our new pigeon flippers have been assembled and calibrated, so we’ll have an additional shotgun challenge. Please note that I included buckshot in the ammo requirement. Standard buckshot rounds for 12 gauge are 00. For 20 gauge, #3 buck is the standard. Please note that #3 buck is not the same as #3 shot.
For the new shooters, we're currently using USPSA rules for multi-gun competition. If you take a look at http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2011_Multigun_Rules%2012_15_2010.pdf, to see how the sport is set up and how classes are determined. Review the rifle and shotgun rules too, and you'll be ready to go. You will register by class and division. Match fees are $10 for MSSA members/$12 for non-members. We may be beta testing a squad to look at IMGA scoring. If you read this month’s Front Sight, USPSA is moving more towards IMGA scoring (at the Nationals, anyway).
For those of you who haven't shot with us before, no steel core ammo or M855/SS109 on any of the long range targets. Shot size for birdshot must be 7 1/2 or smaller. No slugs or buckshot on steel targets. MSSA is run as a cold range, so no magazines in guns or gun handling north of the AP road unless you're in a safety area. Handguns are required to be 9mm or larger.
I'll be doing preliminary set-up Thursday and Friday afternoon, so if you have any ideas for stages, send them to me or Adam, and we’ll try and put your target stands and props in a bay and you can finish setting up Saturday AM. Gates open at 0800, first rounds downrange at 1000. Look forward to seeing you there!

yup, I won't be there either. This and I got the kido all weekend while the wife is out of town.
You guys don't want to come try out the new scoring system? No palms! Hopefully it goes well and we can start transitioning to IMGA rules.

I would like to shoot saturday, but with the Ronin class it is just to much ammo. Ammo is getting hard to find and more expensive. I don't want to blow to much in one month.

Same here. I have gone through almost all of my 55grn FMJ, and most of what I have left is SS109 which is a no-go at Ronin and 3 gun matches.
Gonna be ammo poor after Ronin.
