Bartlett Speeding Ticket, Need Advice
So I was heading through Bartlett and got a speeding ticket for 53 in a 40. I don't remember going that fast but who knows. I know the process in Memphis, but in Bartlett what are the chances on getting it dropped if I go to court? Should I go to court or just pay the fine and call it a day?
I've had a similar situation just on a motorcycle your best bet is probably to just pay and be done with it.
Bartlett is infamous for it. From what my wife says, it's easier to pay it. She grew up there and we lived there a short time waiting for our house. Bartlett PD is good at catching speeders, especially in the Stage/ Bartlett Blvd area

Got a ticket there once.
Instead of just paying the $100 dollar ticket, I was told that if you go to court and ask the judge, that he will let you take a defensive driving class and dismiss the ticket.
I was not told that in addition to going to the 3 hour class, you had to pay court costs of around $85 dollars.
I should have just written them a check to start with and been done with it. They are going to get their money either way.

Welp, that about sums up what I was looking for. Looks like I will be paying the ticket before too much longer. Thanks guys.

Nope, -1 in my awareness, that's for sure. Normal car, mostly black with a white strip instead of the all white ones.
I wouldn't take off work to go to court, but if it is in your free time you might as well go. Best case scenario the office doesn't show and the ticket gets dismissed. Worst case scenario he shows up and you pay it.

Plus court costs right?
Bartlett Police, I am sure they have matured over the years but I can't help recalling an incident a buddy of mine had with them in the late '70s. He gets gas in his car at a gas station on Stage by the RR tracks, pays and then drives off (old days, when you got gas first, then paid). A couple of blocks later he has a swarm of Police cars forcing him to the side of the road, then is surrounded by a multitude of them with weapons drawn and is drug out of his car with a shotgun at the back of his head, thrown down on the pavement and handcuffed. They return him to the gas station where the attendant tells them, that's not the guy you idiots, apprently someone had left without paying for their gas. Wrong car, wrong description, the only thing they got right was that he had been at the gas station. Police tell him he is free to go, but to be more careful the next time he is in Bartlett.
bro.......after 30 years, I doubt Bartlett PD, much less anything/one, is the same.
Marked unit got me. Amazing how something so obvious can be so sneaky.

I had a retired Sheriff Deputy tell me to avoid Bartlett if you have a carry permit. When they find out more cars will show and do basically the same thing. So I try my best to stay out of there.
Buddy on mine who carries and had a wreck had to go to hospital to be checked out. The Bartlett PD told him, he could not give his to a friend who also has a permit, when really he could have. It took him over 3 months to get it back.
Bring your own lube if you're gonna speed in Bartlett!
Another Bartlett resident here. Yes, just pay the ticket, and pay it on time! Things are much easier that way in the long run.
