I don't know how liberal the media is over in minot, but I'm starting to wonder if it was a very minor accident that they aren't reporting the full story on so that they can use the story to push an agenda..

Or that its swept under the rug, I have been searching and have been finding nothing about it at all...

why would they sweep it under the rug it they started polls about gun control? possible, but im thinking they are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Must be nice to go shooting when the rest of us were on 12's during the exercise.

In Sundays paper of the Minot Daily News here:
http://minotdailynews.com/page/content.detail/id/543872.html

More ammo for anti-gunners to shut down or put restrictions on the range.

There is little to no control of the persons using the range. All law enforcement agencies and officers have free access by using the combination lock and the fencing is not sufficient to prohibit or discourage trespass.

omg, you mean people who break laws wont be stopped by a fence and a lock??? but trespassing is illegal!

I always forget that its the property owner who has to have the foresight to make sure people do not come to their land illegally and commit illegal acts. Its the land owners fault not the criminal we should be looking into. That makes sense and next maybe we should punish the victims of crimes for the criminals behavior as well.

Can't say it suprises me. Seems things started going down hill a few years ago. It's a really nice range but...it's gone downhill. quite a shame.

Haven't been there since I moved out of state.

In my eyes it's still the nicest range in the area here. Things are definitely worse now than four years ago when I started going there. I think mostly it has to do with alot of the younger guys going there and tearing stuff up just for the hell of it. I went out there early the other morning and someone had drug a few chairs about 10 yrds down range and shot them up pretty good. Just dont get stupid stuff like that..

Agree 100%. As much as many may not like it, I noticed it around the time Sportman's Loft got into it. One of their people got onto the board, started changing rules. Not to mention, they've definitly increased the amount of toys in the area. Every time I would go into their shop, it was packed with gangbanger types, or military guys that got back from a deployment, had a load of cash, and wanted "that gun from that video game".

And it's great that you can walk into a store and say "I want that". But a lot of the peopel doing it, don't seem to know even the basic safety rules, and/or safe operation of said firearm. They want it cause it's "cool".

Then, they get to the range, and use it like the video game toy they feel it is, but it isn't.

My biggest bitch is when Sportsman's Loft became the only place to get guest passes, and they increased the price and cut back the duration. I used to buy them from Terry at the post office on base.

What a shame. It is a great range, and has such potential. but it's going to hell in a handbasket.

Loft wrecked a lot of things in the area. I am all about NFA toys but some people just dont need them. Especially if they cant operate them safely. I totally agree with NAM about the loft.

Edited so others could understand it ( I dont spell so well)
