New guy from Olathe!

Figured I would put my first post in the regional section just to say hey to all the locals! I have been following the threads in the section for some time hoping to find some place to shoot some long range (anything over 100yds)! Haven't really seen anything to speak of yet so if anyone has any good ideas I am all ears! Hope to learn alot from everybody on the forum!

Mill Creek Rifle Club is in Desoto, very close to you. We have ranges out to 300 yards every day. Also have a 500 yard range, but we have to shut down the rest of the range to use it.

As far as public ranges, MDC has a range at Parma Woods that's about a 45 minute drive from southern JoCo.

That's ironic! I just signed a waiver to go check out Mill Creek with a friend of mine. I am just hoping they are accepting new members as I would definitely want to join based upon everything I have heard!

Been a while since we talked! I finally stopped lurking here and joined. Your aunt told me that you are doing some pistol training and that you may have bought some steel targets... How is that all going for ya?! We need to get together sometime soon and catch up. I have been doing quite a bit of load development trying to get some good loads for the .223 and .308....

Just to chime in... I'm moving to OP from Liberty, MO at the end of May. Not like its a huge move but I'm always looking for nearby folks to shoot with.

Well, what's a day that works for everyone? I'm off every Saturday and Monday. May is terribly busy for me between my wife's graduation, my brother's graduation, and Bianchi Cup.

Alright, sorry...I am a newbie so give me a break!!!
We just need to get to find somebody that has land, and isn't afraid of people with the black rifles... or precision bolt guns... or pistols.... or rapid fire...suppressed fire... you know, just a place to go shoot till our hearts are content!!!
I am always looking for clients willing to trade veterinary service for land access, but the only ones so far want to me to work on cattle!! (not my thing!!)

Out of all the members here I can't believe none of us have any place to shoot. Well, I have a few places but they are friends of friends so I do not want to impose on them. We should all pull together and buy some land and build a range.

I know what you are saying! If I was a landowner and had a friend that liked to shoot, I wouldn't mind but if that friend said " hey, can I bring 5 other guys?" I would probably say no too! I have been keeping my eye open for land... even somewhere within a couple hours of here. It amazes me there there has never been a 1000yd range opened anywhere around here. I have been working up loads for my .308's and .223's but 100yds doesn't tell me much about how they will really perform!
I have been keeping my eye open for land... just hard to swallow the amount for something to shoot 1000yds... when that is all it will be used for!...Well, maybe some pistol courses and CQB courses... !
