Just come down and get lost at White Sands! The Army and Air Force will come pick you up in a Pave Hawk

Two weeks in a row now they've had to rescue people. First time was a couple who wandered off and the guy proposed to the girl. This weekend a 15 year old autistic boy went off chasing a bubble and got lost.

Just like the idiots that get hurt hiking down the Rio Grande Gorge.
These are super expensive rescues.
There needs to be some sort of restitution paid.

Besides by doing these rescues we are upsetting the natural balance of things. How many wild animals are we depriving of a meal?

Haha! I never thought of that!

At least down here they are always running training missions so it's not hard to pull a few aircraft off to look for someone basically in the same area they were already flying. Seems like pretty good real world training to me.

its my dads once in a lifetime

im the one that put us in for it this year, and like a dumbass i put us on different applications

still gonna be fun

not sure if its gonna be quick hunt anymore. here is part of one of the emails they have been sending to him

Many of you will speak with friends that hunted on WSMR five years ago and through your research you may have concluded that these hunts are fairly easy. Realistically, these hunts are no longer road hunts.

not only black hawk, for the first case, the air force even sent out two F22 raptors (over 150 million for each one?) to search the couple.

Sometimes it really is that easy, I guess. Congratulations!
