What does this mean?

I've seen a few of these around. The flag is the size of the registration and inspection stickers and is placed conspicuously on the windshield where, typically, no other stickers are placed.

Exactly what I expected, and that tells me everything I need to know.

Yep. It's code for "Don't pull me over, I'm DPS/Retired DPS/Other Law Dog"

I've been told those fireman union stickers work wonders.

You must not know many cops. I was one, know a LOT of them, and your statement is not true based on my experience.

I think it means that they love America?

I had a flag decal on my car, on the back window. If I was accidentally intruding on something secret, maybe they should pick a better sign.

Do you know why god created firemen?

So police officers would have heros.

Feel free to reverse if you are a police officer!

But look at the size and the placement and then look at cars coming down the road at you and you will see how "conspicuous" this will appear to a DPS unit you as you meet it while speeding. They then "know" not to pull you over.

Retired DPS guy in my office has one on his vehicle. He put it on there on his new car before he even had plates and a registration sticker.

(visibility pet peeve)
It means they don't want to see out of the vehicle at the 10-10:30 point. Hell, get that registration sticker all the way up to eye level, who cares about small things that come from the left like kids or bikes or motorcycles. Not quite as bad as the people driving around with handicapped placards up all the time, but still. Stickers should be kept side by side and low, so there's nothing blocking the view except the truck's structure. I rented a GM Terrain SUV a while back and the giant A pillar drove me crazy.
