As some of you know I am an NRA Instructor and Training Counselor. I have been for several years, and have been in good standing. I just got a letter in the mail indicating that they have suspended my TC rating because I forgot to pay my NRA membership dues.

So beware. Don't forget to pay your dues, or like me, you may learn a hard and expensive lesson.

They say I can remain an instructor, but my TC may be gone for good.

Lesson learned. Pay your dues on time.

That seems a little harsh for an oversight.

It's hard enough finding good TCs...

Well, I spoke to HQ and there is a remedy. I have to jump through a lot of hoops, in writing. Then when I get there, and have paid my dues...... they'll send me a letter. Once they send you a letter you can't resolve it on the phone. You have to send them a letter and then they have to send you a letter....

Again. Lesson learned.

That being said, yes I have now paid my dues.

The NRA has lots of power because they are big. This is generally good but along with that you have a situation where what should be small details and small problems become a huge pile of paperwork and details that one sometimes has to wade through .

I am a lazy bastard so years ago I bit the bullet and paid for life. Honestly about half the reason I went for life was that it is just one less detail I have to deal with.
