 Gun cart ideas?

What do you think of that as a cart to haul stuff around with? It's a Gorilla Cart, I saw it today at Walmart for around $80.

I'm open to other ideas.

I use a "red flyer wagon"

Its got to be cheaper then $80.

But that would work just fine.

Used jogging stroller with ATV rifle holders ob each side.
They fold up smaller and roll better.

Yep, I bought a used BOB stroller on ebay, then added the rifle attachments. Then again, the Rugged Cart holds more.

That is what I used for the longest time. Kinda sucked over rough terrain, but its a damn site better than lugging all that shit around.

Anything like you (the OP) posted would be great. Just fab up some quick, upright racks, and you are set.

I've got the up graded version with wood sides and inflated tires. It doesn't seem to pull any harder then anyone else's strollers

I saw several guys using 3 wheeled jogging
strollers with gun mounts like you use on an
ATV. They fold up for travel so they're pretty
compact.

I just barely snagged ours out of the yard sale
stuff, before the wife sold it. I'm going to start
modding for a shelf on the foot rest area.

The cats meow was a guy had twins, & he had
a side by jogging stroller... it was sweet!

Look at the childrens re-sale shops, I think
we got ours used for $75.

The fixed front wheel is more stable than
the swivel kind.

Posted before, but I have about $100 in mine. Craigslist jogger for $40 and $60 in ATV gun mounts.

If you go the jogger route, I highly recommend one with a rear drink shelf. Very handy place for not only drinks but to use as a loading table, etc.

I am trying to decide whether I want to go with the jogger type buggy or the solid metal cart with upright gun racks.

Please post more pics of what you guys are using.

Here's mine pictured with 4 guns, but width can be reduced to hold only 2 long guns (1 per side)

I keep kicking around the idea of using a golf caddy bag/stroller aparatus, I would have the wife knit little gun warmers if I decide to get one.

Jogger from a yard sale: $1
ATV Gun Racks: $50
Scrap wood for a shelf: Free!

Doesn't look that great but it works nice!

You did a good job on that gotigers.

I have some thoughts bouncing around on what I want, and hopefully the Snerd War Wagon will be unveiled
by the November match.

I used a welding cart from harbor freight:

Added a box and rifle rack

Painted it green & added some pipe insulation for padding

The welding cart is awesome. I was originally thinking of a moving dolly, but the welding cart with the big wheels is perfect. Good job.

Thanks!

Only thing I didn't think of is when you pull it, you have 4 muzzles pointing at you! I always use chamber flags, but I still don't like it. I need to modify it to carry muzzle down.

Pretty cool ideas with the jogging strollers. I might have to keep ours and mod it.

You might try posting in the hi power section. Carts are all but mandatory in that game.

In my experience, golf carts aren't strong enough. I've seen several shooters try them, most end up in the trash by the end of Camp Perry week. The jogging carts appear to be catching on. Most are strong enough and have large enough wheels to be usable. I have also seen just about every variation of the basic two wheel cart. Some work, some don't Important things to consider is getting something with large enough wheels. The bigger the wheel the easier it is to pull thru rough ground. Also keep in mind your carrying a lot of weight, more than you probably realize. You need something fairly heavy duty. Also keep in mind the thing has to fit in your vehicle. Collaspible is good, but you typically are giving up some ruggedness in the process.

Good point on fit. My collapsible jogging stroller takes up the better part of the back of my CR-V. It won't fit in the back seat because the door openings are too small.

Thanks for the ideas. I've been mulling about building one of these.

I have been using the Harbor Freight welding cart for 6 years. Works great. Bolted a plywood base and then bolted
a large cooler to base to store my ammo, mags, other gear. Set the cooler far enough ahead that I can put my shotgun and rifle in hard or soft cases
between the cooler and cart handle to transport.
You do need a pickup to go to the range.

Just finished it this morning. Just in time for the match on Saturday.

Can only find ones with the food tray. Anyone removed one?
If so, any alterations needed?

With guns instead of golf clubs. Takes you and your gear between stages.

See this Enos thread for a little more detail. The holders are wrapped with Velcro...

Good Luck,

thanks McFooter, now for a dumb follow up question: where in the world do you get that stuff? and I would have never heard of it had you not pointed it out....did you come across this stuff at work or something? I will check the closet/storage section at lowes/HD on my way home today.

Saw a guy at a 3-gun match with that setup. If you can find the jogging stroller at a garage sale, you will have a very inexpensive, yet very nice, cart for your guns, ammo, water, etc.

A friend of mine was able to get a small amount directly from Fastube (see other thread for link). Yes it's a product used in industry, you won't find it at a big box store...

Good Luck

Newly completed cart: New cart on sale: $99.97, ATV gun rack: $43.97. Still cheaper then a Rugged Gear.

I would just look at where and how it mounts and then cut it off just past that point so as to not mess with the strollers folding ability.

Footer,
What did you use for the cross members?
PVC? Aluminum?

That looks a lot more stable than what I used on mine.

Thanks!

John

I just put some ATV gun holders from walmart on my craigs list jogging stroller. The wally world holders are about half the price of the holders at Bass Pro.

You have come a long way since using that brown belt and nail apron last August.

Your buggy is awesome.

I bought my gun holders at Wally World . I just need to get busy and get them installed on the
war wagon.
