No. Most are reloading 3 or 4 rounds at a time out of belt mounted shell caddies.

This. midway link to show

if your going to use a side saddle get a cloth one, the shells come out faster.

I find that a side saddle gets in the way if loading from a belt caddy weak hand. The ammo on the saddle hits the ammo in my hand and messes up my grip on it and my rhythm.

95% of the time I load off the belt, weak hand.

Throw slugs into the mix and I want them somewhere that I won't accidentally grab them.

A side saddle is a great place for your slugs.

A side saddle is quick for grabbing one or two, like maybe at slide lock for that pesky un-engaged last target, or to provide a special spot to put slugs for select targets. Or just a spot to put more rounds for that 30+ round empty gun start stage. And some of us cannot grab 4 at a time without a disaster happenin'.

I'll be using a side saddle. Because I use three gun as a training exercise. And my shotgun is always at the ready with the side saddle loaded. I want to practice for the time I may really have to use a shotgun. Learning to load from the side saddle is a must for me.

Until you hit a stage with 12 slug targets, like this weekend.

3 Gun Gear is the way to go for a side saddle. I use a side saddle and arm band to reload "strong hand" much faster and less "fumble factor" for me

It depends on how you want to reload. If you go with weak hand, it isn't a must. I haven't mastered that skill so I go strong hand off the side saddle and forearm and for that, it is a must.

This! 3-Gun Gear stuff is very good - I've been using their side saddle for over 3 years and it hasn't lost any of it's elasticity.

I shoot a 3 gun gear side saddle on my 1100 for well over 5 years, the same one, and with the same velcro on the gun. I can load efficiently nearly any way there is to load a shotgun and i still prefer this and my armband for quick reloads between targets where i cant grab and load 4 rounds off my belt.
