Has anyone attended any courses at Rifles Only in south Texas? Particularly their precision rifle courses are what I'm interested in.

I have'nt taken it but that was one of my goals for this year. What month were you thinking?
Since April is out, I was thinking in fall. Or maybe even June, I rather not run the week long course in 100d heat.
I'm definitely looking at something later in the year.
I emailed some Q's to Jacob on gear & unlisted courses in Fall. Will send the response your way, pending I get one.
Let me know if you plan to hit one, I'll do the same.
Sounds great. Thanks bro.
I attended the train-up to last year's October Bash at Rifles Only (as well as the Bash itself), which is kind of like an abbreviated version of the PR1 course (the train-up to the Bash, that is). And I'm planning to take the actual PR1&2 in the next few months (as soon as Jacob nails down the dates for the next course); been planning it since the Bash, in fact.
And after that, I'm planning to head back a month later for some Carbine training.

The first time I ever fired a bolt-action rifle was last October during the train-up. And while I had some very basic experience with AR-15s and some handgun training, what I got from Rifles Only was simply a whole 'nother level of learning. I learned more in five days with Jacob than I would have in several years of trying it on my own. I'm dead certain of that.
Rifles Only has
A LOT of active duty Military and Law Enforcement people go through the school, which should give you an idea of the caliber of training they provide. But at the same time, Jacob (and staff) make it interesting and even ... fun. They don't run around, full of themselves, putting on some bullshit paramilitary show. They just teach gun-fighting. On the other hand, they will not coddle you. You will spend 8+ hours a day (for 5/6 days) either shooting or humping it with your rifle/gear to the next course of fire. During the train-up, at the end of each day, I usually had just enough energy to eat some grub, take a shower and it was rack-time. By the end of the week, I was pretty much toast. And all I've been doing since then is counting up my vacation days till I can get my ass back there.

By the way, the next time you talk to Jacob ... ask him if he'll let you shoot at some of his lights.
