I acquired this in an estate sale. The only info I could find on this was on the official us patent office website. It unscrews and looks to take a 12ga size smoke flare. The patent describes the actual gun and flare that was to be used. It’s a very neat conversion piece. I’ve taken it to several gun collectors and none had ever seen one before. Inventor was Robert T. Carlin who worked for Remington. Patent date shows 1965 and 1967.
