Are those Polish AKs chambered in 5.45 or 5.56 since Poland is part of NATO now?

Here are some pics from an open range outside of town when I went shooting last week with some friends.

Faces blurred for simple privacy.

Our little arsenal:

Me with the Polish underfolding AK-47 with bayonet:

His first time shooting an AK.  My ex-specops buddy and I were talking earlier that day about shooting stances and he mentioned how a lot of folks new to shooting lean backwards....

And with the AMD-65:

Who are these people. The camo they are wearing looks a lot like WWII German camo.

Judging by the BTR-80 and the balaclavas, probably Russian or Ukrainian SF.

Man, I wish I understood how to use images on here!!!!  Guess I'm too old.

Anyway, from the previous page, pictures show soldiers with the sling on their AKs tight around the buttstocks.  Any idea how to get mine like that on a polymer non-folder?

Do you mean like this? img432.imageshack.us/img432/2343/2fx1.jpg?  You can't do it unless you have a polymer or triangle folder.  With a polymer non-folder, you can wrap your sling around the FSB like this pvo.guns.ru/weapon/images/rifle0214_02.jpg

Fun facts from the New York Times -

Somalia, after 16 years of murderous anarchy, is so awash in weapons that the street price of a Kalashnikov assault rifle is $15.

Actually most of those were taken in Liberia or Rwanda. Somalia is Disney Land compared to those places.

SVU and SVU-A (Snaiperskaya Vintovka Ukorochennaya - Avtomat = Short Sniper Rifle - Automatic) is, basically, a shortened variant of famous SVD rifle, re-stocked into bull-pup configuration, with added folding ajustable bipods and muzzle device (flash hider and noise decreaser). SVU-A is SVU with added full-auto capability.
SVU is intended as a special law enforcement and tactical rifle, and is widely used by Russian Internal Affair Ministry Forces and OMON (kind of Russian S.W.A.T.) in Chechnya. This rifle is more compact, and have somewhat shorter effective range, than SVD.
