[Last Edit: Speedwinder]
I bought an AK-74 in 2010 and now don't have much time to shoot it. I am considering selling it, but I have no real feel for current prices. It comes with 7 or so black or reddish plastic com-bloc mags that I bought in or around 2010.

Pictured below is not mine but is very very similar to mine, almost exactly like mine. The AK has no problems, has been a good shooter, fairly low mileage.

Guesses of value would be appreciated. Just trying to get a feel for value, not for sale-at least for now.

1300-1500.   My guess.   5.45x39 is a dying round.   (awesome, but dying)

Thank you for the range of value.

5.45 does seem to be out of favor, at least in the US.

It will have two domestic manufacturers soon, but will never be the cheap shooting round it was.

Tag for the same reasons!

OP, when you say reddish brown mags, are they bakelite? Because those are fetching a pretty penny these days.

FWIW, Bulgarian parts kits are ridiculous these days, I don't understand why: Atlantic Firearms

Similarly oddly high pricing from What-A-Country

Most of my mags are black, but some are a dark red, but not bakelite. Wish they were.

Thank you for the reply!

A lot depends on the receiver brand and who the builder was.  What are the markings?

Bottom of the receiver is marked;

NDS-2
Nodak Spud LLC
Edna Mn. USA
Century Arms Inc.
Georgia VT.
Serial Number

Bolt carrier marked 960

It is my understanding that these we made from Bulgarian parts kits.

Some percentage of Bulgarian parts kits were build by Century with incorrect U.S. made barrels, and shot horrible.  They made Tantals with the same problem.

I had one, and eventually had to bite the bullet and put on a good barrel, since Century did everything possible to weasel out of it.

Unless it was obviously a Bulgarian or green mountain chrome lined barrel, I think most knowledgeable buyers would be really wary.  As in maybe $800.
