Ok, a friend is looking at buying the AK pictured below, and I’m more of an AR guy.  Trying to see if anyone can tell the model and if it’s a decent one or not from the photos below.

Factory built with the Romanian carbine combo gas block/FSB like the md.90.  Excellent SBR candidate.

Looks someone swapped the muzzle device out, standard looking Romanian ugly-wood and a surplus grip.

I’d hazard it’s probably in need of 922r parts from a casual glance.  I’d guess the trigger group and muzzle are US-made for 4.  Can’t tell if the piston is US, the stock set looks surplus. If the piston is US, a US-made pistol grip would fix it; if not, slapping on that grip and a US-made butt stock, handguards, or both would fix it.
