The one I bought looks identical to yours when comparing the only pic I have of mine with the ones you posted here. I was also told by the dealer that the one I bought is NOT a CAI build, but was instead a direct import from Romania which was allowed to be shipped in "as is" due to the nature of the club stock - not sure about that but the guy seems honest and reliable. Unfortunately, I don't have the rifle yet, but was wondering if yours came with the carrying handle? Also would appreciate feedback on how accurate yours shoots and if the metal, magazine and wood furniture are tight fits. Thanks for any info. you can give me!!! Doug http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/rr40/DDayDog/pop_wm_1031724.jpg DDayDog, I think you might have been told a lie about yours being shipped direct from Romanian without being touched my CAI. The tag in your trigger guard is a tag CAI puts on all their rifles and contains the serial # as well as a tracking number. The club stock means nothing to federal import laws. The receivers on these bad boys are made in Romanian without the 3rd hole and built in country "I think". Century probably installs the following compliance parts and they may open up the mag well for hi-cap mags. I don't think they open the mag wells in Romania as they are not blued where they have been opened. -Check to see if the gas piston is a TAPCO or other US made brand -Check to see that the trigger group is US made. (mine has a little "c" in a circle) -Pistol Grip should be US made -The muzzle nut should be welded on I would guess the AES-10B you purchased without a carry handle was from a group buy. I found somewhere there had been a LARGE group buy of these suckers which didn't have a carry handle or the RPK rear sight. Check my thread out, it lists what I had when I started and what I changed to keep her legal, http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=97&t=111752 |

I thought it sounded kinda funny about it being shipped in like that. I've only read about a small amount of AK rifles - not RPKs - being shipped in as full firearms that weren't parts kits or rilfes with thumbhole stocks, etc. I've read 922r and that just didn't seem possible to have them shipped in like that. I've been out of the market for AKs starting in the days of $450 Pre ban Polytechs until early this year and am very surprised (and discouraged) by what's out there now versus 1989. I'll definitely check everything you listed. By the way, that's the frst folder I've seen on an RPK - looks awesome. I'm a big folder fan. Just hope I can find a carrying handle for my RPK. I've looked all afternoon on line and found zero handles for sale. I even tried ebay - ugh. Thanks again for all the imput, Sub.

She's gonna get a linseed-oil treatment on the wood and probably some sort of semi-gloss coating on the metal... gotta have a pair of "G" kit guns finished first though.

That is an AES-10. Not a "B" model.
