On the cusp of a potential AWB in Colorado and I’m trying to prioritize my funds
What’s out there right now for receivers? ETA: Maybe I need more guidance than I suspected initially or need to do more research on exactly what end result I want lol |

Load up on heat treated 80’s, get a drill jig, done in 15 minutes. I haven’t bought a 4473 AK receiver for years.

The issue I’m having with AK receivers is I don’t know the way to answer these questions so that in 1-10 yrs from now, I don’t fuck myself.
Plus the unknown of what parts kits are available IE if I pick everything Russian or Bulgarian or whatever, the unknown of what I can obtain or get machined/Jimmy rigged to fit I’m at a standstill. Buy two in fact.  That's what i'd do as I never snagged any parts kits when I should have. |

I think you may just want to buy a complete AK
If you absolutely want to play with building out a parts kit, Romanian are probably still the most readily available but no longer cheap. WBP also sells Polish spec "parts kits" that are all new parts ready to assemble. Iirc both Arms of America and AK Builder typically have these kits ready to buy Just understand if you don't already know, there is a bit of a tooling investment up front to build an AK kit |
