Very nice!!

Looks good. I did the front end but decided to not do the rear trunnion for a side folder. Since Russian parts have dried up, I used KUSA parts and they fit well and look good. I still need to paint the rifle once again. Saira rifles are fun projects.

What did he charge for the work if you don't mind me asking? I got a couple different quotes and prices are all over the place.

Very nice. Where did you source your pistol grip reinforcement plate? Need one for my 103 clone.

Anyone find the barrel on the Saiga a bit undersized for the front sight block? Mine needed some knurling to properly fit the rusky block.

What he charged me when you asked was even then no longer valid. He had IIRC by then, gone into business on his own. |

Also want to know much would the conversion like this cost?

I second this. I'm sitting on a saiga that's not converted

Damn fine job welding up those holes. You'd never know they were there.
I still have cheap plastic plugs in my Saiga-12 SBS and need to get that done. |

Sourcing Russian parts is the hard part, be ready to drop $1200.-$1500. quite likely even more now. The hardest will be the muzzle brake (and just forget about a long collar brake), the FSB, 5.5 folding mechanism and furniture. Other small items like proper sight leaf (1000m rear sight leaf that is П marked with half ticks), lower HG retainer, PG reinforcement plate and trigger guard are a little easier. Then getting it all put together by a good builder, e.g. John at Appalachian Gunwerks, will cost another $1000-$1500. |

If I wanted it all right now, and was willing to pay Gunbroker prices, it'd be... $2000.00+/- all Russian parts, except the gas block (Bulgarian) and a currently unavailable Russian muzzle brake. OUCH! I cut a few corners on my build with Arsenal furniture and a Bulgy 4.5mm folding mechanism, and parts still cost me almost $1000.00 2.5 years ago. |
