Here's my tweaked KTR08 with the light corrected onto the RHS.

She runs like a dream.
I still want to convert to a folding stock but the rail's dolls head mount on the tang necessitates a non-fugly custom adaptor/hinge.

Saiga 7.62, home conversion.  Not sure about the dust cover rail yet, since I haven't had a chance to take it to the range, if it doesn't keep zero well, I still have the original dust cover and a rail that mounts from the side.

Latest conversion. Still some work needed on the buttstock and I still need to refinish the whole gun and stain the furniture a deeper red:

Very Nice AEnemaBay!  I always thought that was one of the cleanest conversions I have seen in the Kalashnikov line.  I also saw it over at saiga-12 forums as well.

My .223 after I got done with it to this point.  would like to remove the end of the "shroud" of the FSB and put on a decent flash hider.  Noise suppressor wold be nice, but not available here in Michigan.

And a recent target shot with this rifel at 100 yards:

Next in line I'm saving for is the Saiga in .308 Winchester.

Hammer
Trigger
Sear
Gas piston
Muzzle brake
Magazine follower
Magazine floorplate

Also, I have an Ironwood stock set on the way along with a Russian PG. When that gets here I'll replace the followers and floorplates with the originals and use the US ones on another build I'm working on. The mags are Polish Beryl mags which look exactly like the Russian AK-101 mags. But I'm about to order some actual 101 mags soon.

ok, just got my Saiga back from my local smith who did the 103 conversions. It's not all correct yet, really need that 90 degree gas block, hint, hint, and some of the rivets aren't great, but I think he did a pretty good job. She's ugly now, but after I get that GB and get it refinished, I think it will be a really nice piece. It started out as a 20", I did the trigger move myself, and he did all the rivets, the folder, and the barrel chop.

Looking good. I used a GB off of a Polish Tantal where I cut the bi-pod extension off. But this was before all these Bulgy parts were available so readily. Check out Apex, they have the best price going so far that I've found (but you might want to add more items to make the shipping costs worth it, IMHO):

Here's my quick and dirty conversion of my SGL-10. Waiting on the trigger guard, gas block with lug, 74 butt stock, and bullet guide. I have hand cycled 3 mags through this w/o a bullet guide without a hitch though.....I'm thinking of doing something a little different with this one though. All mine have the side folders on them. What do you guys think? Solid stock, or go with an ACE, or do another side folder?

Er...yeah...that's a great collection of Saiga rifles...BUT....

You have alot of work to do! Convert them suckers and you'll have a collection worthy of the great Kalishnakov's blessing. If you don't know how to convert a Saiga (the ONLY way to own a Saiga), come on over to Saiga-12.com and we'll help you out.

The slow but ever persistant evolution of my Saiga .223.

Its been about 8 months since I bout my Saiga and did the original conversion moving trigger group forward and adding pistol grip. Today I finally added a quad rail from UTG and its nice. A part of me half expected something of lesser quality but it is stout and no  where near as heavy as I had expected.  The bi pod was something I had laying around and is unlikely to stay on as I like my rifle fairly simple. Plans for the future are to add a more comfortable grip, a skeleton stock, and reflex sight with co-witness. All in due time. I have really been impressed by this rifle. For a long time I was an AR guy but I really like my Saiga. Its also been a fun project.

CRIZZAPP....Nice set-up...looks pretty solid.
I would hesitate to install on my 5.45 x 39 because of need for frequent gas tube cleaning.
Does to top rail remove easily?
