Yeah, I know it is way early, but is there any future plans for a 308 / 7.62x51 model?

I think they mentioned in a video on YT that they did have that in the plans. I hope so.

Yes, it is in the prototype phases. It won’t be 2022. We are deciding on whether to use the DPMS G2 style lower or the traditional PA10 style lower.

All the guys unwilling to shell out the money for an additional lower will complain. They’re also the same guys who won’t buy the upper anyway.

Please for the love of all that’s holy, make the G2 your go to platform. Give us 16” chrome barrel normal G2’s too! I have large frame AR’s and I’m beyond done with them. DPMS could have dominated with the G2 if not for their terrible barrel and rail options.

We are bringing back the G2 under DPMS. It will most likely be 2023/2024 before that happens. When we bought it in the DPMS purchase a lot of the tooling no longer existed .We are having to tool it back up on our own.

Bummer but glad you guys are reviving it. Could you possibly revise it to use 5.56 rails? It’d sell like absolute hot cakes. POF and another company I forgot the name of pulled it off, but POF uses stainless barrels no one wants and the other guys are unknowns.

Interesting, a 308 JAKL using a DPMS G1 style lower maybe as soon as late 2023, or a 308 JAKL using a DPMS G2 style lower most likely 2024/2025.  I can easily see the reasons for both directions.  The G1 would be compatible with a larger number of existing lowers.  The G2 would be a big complete rifle item with a good chance of helping the new lowers gain acceptance.

Even with a few AR10 lowers in the safe, the G2 would be very nice way to go.  Personally, I am willing to wait and ready to buy.

For Gods sake, use the G2 lower.  It is so much smaller and handy than the large frame.  Less weight.  Even better if you could shave a few ounces off it.

It takes 5.56 rails, all you need is to make a barrel nut.  SLR made barrel nuts for it, and virtually all rails that clamp to a standard barrel nut fit fine.  Most companies didnt want to bother tho.

I have no interest in traditional large-frame guns like the PA10, but if you build it on the G2 lower I'm in.

100% this. And while PSA is at it, just scoot that forward assist all the way up against the brass deflector like on BCM MK2s and the MCX series.

One would think that this system would benefit from the slightly greater length of the original style lower.

Your average person isn’t going to want to try and make a barrel nut, and they’re decent but SLR is definitely not my go to rail.

A 5.56 threaded receiver solves all of that.

The lighter an ar10 could be the more I’d be interested in getting one.

Any update on what PSA is doing with the .308 JAKL? Is G2 resurrection a go or is it going to be old faithful DPMS?

Just a personal guess, but I would shocked it was any earlier than Late 2023.

2024 is a reasonable time frame to me.

Sounds good. G2 will be a good product I think. Pretty high demand for it around here anyway.

I'd Buy a .358 Jakl, for deer season

I must admit that after my 14.5 in .223. A  .308 would be cool. Personally I would like it in the std. AR10 size lower as I have a few laying around.

We have had to make some changes and unfortunately we will be using the AR10 size lower instead of the DPMS G2 size lower.

They also had plans for an MP5 clone that never materialized because CAI's Turkish brethren beat them to it with their AP5. They teased release of the ACR after acquiring that, and are holding us hostage with a DPMS GII receiver revival. They also seem to have plans for a Glock foldable chassis, and instead of putting their money where their mouth is with a .308 AK to compete with Zastava's M77s when those go banned from export, you're holding out for a .308 JAKL?
Just my way of giving a friendly PSA in reminding folks that PSA has a lot of vaporware.

As much as I love my G2, copy the POF and Ruger SFAR.
Same size and weight JAKL in larger cartridges.

If anything is going to get me into a JAKL, it's going to be .308.
