Does anyone have any recommendations on this? I will consider cutting down a 16 but would rather not. Would consider as short as 11.5. The idea of a 6.8 SBR has been intriguing to me. Just looking to see if anyone here has done it.

ARP used to make them, you can still find a used ones occasionally. I still use one of their 16in 6.8 mm barrels for deer.

Once upon a time there was some issue with arfcom and the ARP owner (who is no longer involved). I think he was either an open communist or selling without a vender account. One of those things isn't allowed, so he was banned and you weren't supposed to mention his product.

Had one since 2016 and it’s great.  It’s killed a great many pigs.

11.3 is a little shorter than I was hoping for but it’s available and well… It’s Wilson Combat. Should work well as an option.

The founder of ARP retired and sold the business to Blackstone arms. Supposed to be the same barrels from the same vendors using the same processes.

Everything is oos, except for 16". https://www.blackstonearms.com/category-s/172.htm

I've got a 12.5" ARP from back in 2020 that I've used for about 40 rounds if even that.
If interested shoot me a pm. I'll give a hell of a deal.

Took it out for a shoot today and had some issues. Working to get some things figured out. It was ejection issues. Will be trying a different bolt next time out.

I don’t know if you have resolved your problems yet.   I’ve got a 11.3” WC barrel in 6.8.  What I learned is that the barrel is

under gassed.  With the heavier loads (120) it did ok.  With the lighter 90-110 loads it would short stroke.  I thought about

drilling out the gas port but first I tried using a light weight bolt carrier.  I don’t remember which buffer and spring I used but

I was able to get it to work reliably with the 90 grain loads.

I have an extra light weight carrier I found. Digging around a box of parts I was given years ago I also found a spare 6.8SPC bolt and carrier setup. The person who gave me the box had a couple 6.8’s and put in FailZero BCGs.

Hopefully Wednesday I’ll be able to test it all out again. I really want this thing to work right. I do have a really nice 556 upper for it as well

I had to put a H2 buffer in my 11.3 WC 6.8 gun to get it to run right, hope this info helps.

It appears my issue is brass shaving into the ejector and causing the plunger to lock up and nothing to kick the brass out with the plunger clogged. Will be trying a different bolt to see what works.
