Do you mean AR15.live? That place gives me scam vibes, but if I am wrong, I guess I'll be snaging a DPMS upper.

Let us know how it works out

I sourced a Bushmaster A2/carbine parts kit from everygunpart.com last night and won't be ordering from AR15.live. EGP is sold out of the 8 or so kits they had for sale in less than 24 hours. I also saw some of the BA 20" barrels disappeared from some stores, so I think some people had the same idea, but a BM kit and snag a barrel. It wasn't cheap but it comes with everything but a lower. I would suggest anyone looking for an A2 or A1 upper to keep checking back. I'll swap the 16" barrel and carbine buffer and stock out for a 20" and use my A2 stock I have in a box waiting for this build. I have a Bushmaster lower to go with it as I am not making an FN clone. I just want an A2 style rifle to go with my A4 style rifle and A1 clone. BA 20" barrels are around $115-120 on a few websites, but I see FN barrels around $210. The BCA 20" is around $150. These three barrels are government profile 1/7 twist barrels. I think I would rather spend the extra bit of money for the FN barrel.

I like my Capco upper, but they appear to have been rejects.  I have read of some of them being out of spec and almost non-functional.

Can't wait to see the photos of your complete mil-spec A2 upper assembly at the quoted 1/4 ($212.50) cost...

I'm happy with mine and they've made clone correct rifles that shoot well.

Right now one is lucky to get a A2 upper in decent shape for under $250-$300.  Ask me how I know

But also, I'm gonna build an A2!!!

Can you link this? I have a Capco upper, other than how the flashing was removed it seems to be fine. I do wonder where the barrel came from. It’s a 1/7 twist chrome lined, it seems to be a milspec barrel but I can’t really figure out who made it.

Biggest issue I’m having right now is trying to figure out which cerakote color to use on the lower to match the grey used on the upper.

I don't have a link, but I saw it here.

The hole for the pin under the rear sight elevation drum was out of spec (or terribly wrong) on some uppers.  On mine, there is a dab of touch up paint there.  I recall discussion of those holes being crooked or egged out.

Also, on mine, they screwed up installing the forward assist retention roll pin, so there is more touch up paint over a staking.

Interesting. I do have the touch up paint on the forward assist. The rear sight seems fine. It has zeroed and held zero for the 300 or so rounds though it.

You can see the touch up paint on the forward assist in this pic on the way back from the range.

FWIW,   I recently sold a complete A2 upper on GB for $500+

re the touch up paint,
it is usually just that,

Colt used it a lot back in the 70's and 80's,   usually on the roll pins,  but some came factory direct with touch up paint in then in various places (cover up nics,  or corners,

sometimes there would be a big blob of it where the bolt stop roll pins are

The other most common is the BHO roll pin. Never seen a Sporter rifle w/o it.

Lot of complaints online of customers credit cards being hacked after doing business with thundertactical.
Not saying they aren't GTG, just that I would use a prepaid card for any purchase there.

Good to know.  I used one of my CC's so I have protection from fraud.

Many if not most card issuers have some level of fraud protection, but it can be a PIA to use it, and another PIA to notify places that you use it for automatic bill payments of your new credit card number.

All good points.

In my case, I have one card I use Exclusively for online purchases.  I have another I use for bill pay.  I try to keep as much separation as I can when paying online for stuff.

I too took a chance and ordered a couple and received tracking as well on the 17th. No updates since then even though expected delivery is today. Lol.

Now tracking says fedx doesn’t even have it yet

Don’t think it was long
Still don’t think it’s right we pay $20 to ship fedx and then they drag their feet to get it to them

Just got a reply back from them.

They ship 3-5 business days, 2nd day FedEx.  So, even though we recieved the tracking number friday, we will likely see it ship this week.

I can't confirm this, but its likely they use the tracking number in their system to track the orders and inventory.  An old company I used to work for did something similar way way back in the day....

Okay, someone has to have an explanation as to why a no-name place like ThunderTactical.com would have A2 uppers? It just doesn't make any sense why they would have them (a place I've never heard of) when no one has them.

I'm sitting here waiting on someone (mostly Brownells) to have C7 uppers without M4 feed ramps. So the fact that someplace has A2 uppers only bothers me a little.

Then now would not be a good time to order carry handle uppers from questionable places... Or get into crypto.

I think you have just enough luck to where you could get away with one more Shark Arms order. I still never have ordered from Shark, but I know if I did I'd regret it.
