I recently got my v seven back after barrel swap and added a rifle speed gas block. After breaking in the barrel I noticed that with my bolt open when I put the rifle down on it side the bolt closed. Definitely would say it was banged or dropped, more like a little thud.. Tried looking up similar instances but couldn't find any. Any feedback?

If you want the bolt to stay open, don't lay it down on its left side.  If you have some hokey bilateral bolt release, don't lay the rifle down.

Which side? Left side - the release was pressed.

Otherwise, the bolt catch is spring loaded to move down. Give the rifle enough of a shunt and the friction between the catch and bolt lowers enough for the catch to slip down and let the bolt close.

18 year old me in boot with A2, just got from the armory. Set it down on the butt end with enough of a bump that it released and dropped the bolt. Not knowing any better, thought I was in so much shit.

If you do that it will go off and kill people. Happens in boot camp every day.
