Do they exist and are they worth it?
I'm just looking for a cheap free float handguard for my .22 ar. I've got it set up with an A2 fsb and plastic handguard, but I wanna swap it out for a FFH instead so it's more like my main set up

Holy shit that was cheaper than I thought I'd be spending, thanks! It's literally just something to hold on to for me, and it's a .22 so recoil should shake it loose and I'm not putting anything except maybe a magpul flip up sight on it

Do they exist? Yes. Are they worth it? No.

But for a .22 it’ll probably be fine.

I need a couple rails that work with FSP/FSP cut out. Everyone I find are $150 - 400. Anyone know a budget solution?

I agree with this. I have a UTG Pro rail and it's shockingly good for the price. I like the ultra slim version.

Here it is on my cheap build with knock off trijicon.

THIS is the one I have. I think I paid 110 for it. No complaints at all. Not sooper zooty, but perfectly good, especially for that price.

Keep an eye on Primary Arms as they have been having some good sales on Aero Precision rails as of late.

I got a 12.7” Gen2 Enhanced rail (w/o barrel nut) for just over $100 recently.

I had a BAR nut on hand so I didn’t need to buy one, so it was a really good deal.

Expo Arms handguards

The sub $100 handguards are similar to the other brands makings. This style of handguard is pretty solid despite being a pinch lock rail. The middle bolt engages a steel tab that engages a groove on the barrel nut preventing it from being pulled forward. The rail has anti-rotation tabs on it. I'd put this style of rail up there with Midwest Industries. You can shop around for better prices or designs you like. I personally like the look of the Expo Arms version the best.

It's unfortunate Primary Arms no longer offers the Expo Arms Combat Rail. They were made by Cross Machine Tool and were a fantastic value. You could get their version of a CMT HDM rail for $100 to $120. I snagged one of the last 15" rails for $80 and really enjoy it. I have 6 CMT rails at this point (2 Expo Arms, 2 CMT DRT, 2 FCD) and they are all excellent. In fact if you can swing the extra cash that's the route I'd recommend. CMT updated their barrel nut design in the last year or so so you can use a Geissele wrench in addition to the stamped steel POS they ship with them.
