Have an AR I'm going to give to my brother next month. I have several T2's. I'll give it to him stripped.

Interesting thing about my brother is.. He lives like he makes $80,000 a year and I live like I make $500,000 a year.

Suggestions, please.

I want to suggest something that is reliable and rugged but won't break his bank. He lives in Austin. Actually Cedar Park, so I know he has great stores around him.

18" Aero upper with Aero lower.

It's a good shooter.

Thank you.

They're a little chunky compared to the more "micro" stuff and require a specific battery, but they're durable and affordable. While not the most streamlined thing out there, the provided mount is quite sturdy/functional too. I'd say it's a solid choice. Just order a couple of spare batteries on-line and you'll be set for the next decade.

Ordered today. Got one for me , as well. My brother has millions, but doesn't behave like he does.

I guess that's why he has millions.

The Romeo 9 suggested above must have it's own guidance system.

Thanks for your input.

You're a good brother and neither of you will be disappointed.

The PRO is a great RDS. You'll be happy with it. I've used less expensive ones for kids, girlfriend's etc. But, I use a pro on my one AR that runs a RDS and it's absolutely solid. I dont use it much anymore (the gun or the aimpoint), but it's been used a lot in the past. I just tend to latch onto one AR at a time and currently it's not that one.

Nice of you to recommend one, but I think a red dot is criminally underusing the potential of an 18” barrel. I’d recommend an LPVO or prism optic, unless he’s planning to use this for HD (which would be an odd choice for such a long barrel).

Aimpoiny Duty RDS is sub $500 for a micro.  I have one and like it.

You're right..

Also giving him a Nikon 2.5*10 with a Larue qd mount.  So, he'll have those options.

Lead and Steel LP1 is my mid tier recommendation. Multiple reticle options, excellent battery life, rugged, assembled in USA
