Yes. All them parts are aluminum and would have been anodized gray. All the barrels I have bought only have the barrel nut on them. If you buy a just barrel without the FSB on it, most time you do not even get a barrel nut. Just the barrel. After the FSB is installed and pinned, you can't get the barrel nut on without removing the FSB. The slip ring, weld spring, and snap ring can still be put on later.

If you bought a completed upper, it will have everything already. It will have the slip / Delta ring and charging handle it looks like. It's ready to slap on a lower. https://palmettostatearmory.com/harrington-richardson-11-5-xm177e2-complete-pistol-upper-gray.html

If you bought a stripped upper and just a barrel, then sounds like you will still need a gray slip ring, weld spring, and snap ring - https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-handguards-parts/ar-15-a1-deltaslip-ring-pack/
Or this kind in gray - https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-handguards-parts/ar-15-delta-ring-assembly-steel-black/

Also, I am not sure about the XM177E2. I see some pictures of what looks like a XM1772 with a gray straight slip ring then I see pictures of some with a gray Delta ring. (the slanted ones). Looks like H&R uses a gray "Delta" ring on their XM177E2 uppers.

@Akin - this place offers Molyresin coating. I found it a while ago when I was looking to get some stuff done, but I still haven't had a chance to send anything in. They used to have more info on their refinishing and gunsmithing page but it looks like their site is in the middle of an update. I'd suggest reaching out via email or phone.

@oldcatawba got an upper done by them not long ago after I posted their link in the NC hometown forum.

I get a 403 forbidden on that link.  Even if I turn off my firewall.

I can open any of the 'https://shop.meridianordnance.com' links on their site without error, but the links that start with 'https://meridianordnance.com/' give me a certificate error. That's what makes me think they're in the middle of an update.

Here is an older XM177 upper that was done about 6 years ago with Norrell's and aging. The lower was done before it.

Delta ring is correct for a XM177E2.

One thing I found helpful when baking stuff I moly resined is to use a laser thermometer ($20 on Amazon) to adjust the oven so that the object is 300 degrees. Using a couple of different oven thermometers, I saw the temps where not consistent.

I never used them, but I think Drunk Irish Customs on Facebook does moly resin.

FYI they're going to be doing my painting (resin-ing?) for me.  Their site is borked in the middle of moving servers right now though.

Debating what I should do aside from the upper and lower.  Ejection port cover door and hinge pin? Slip ring?  Barrel and front sight post?

You may want to do your trigger guard, trigger, mag release, bolt hold open and selector if you don't have a gray LPK kit. A lot of times those parts are black. I just did some of mine in gray for my GM and 601 builds this past week. Maybe the slip ring.

What finish does your barrel have now? Is the FSB installed already? I guess if it was a Nitride or QPQ I might consider it.

If you do decide on doing the barrel make sure they have a big enough oven to do it in.

They say they can handle any size project.  Though if I send in a car, well, that might be too big.  :-D

I have a gray H&R LPK.  From what I’ve been told, only the trigger guard, charging handle, and magazine release button were gray?  Most of the parts in the gray LPK are black aside from the trigger guard and magazine button…

Yeah, I know the H&R parts are black phosphate but I'm not sure that's correct for older M16's. Other old parts I've had were gray, or grayish brown. Plus retro parts from Ar15sport are gray.

Someone should come along that knows better than me. Look at old pics though, you don't see black parts jumping out at you in old pics.

What model are you actually trying to clone? Apologies, if you may have mentioned it in the thread, but I missed it if so.
