How would you guys rate PMC bronze on a hotness scale compared to regular 5.56 ammo? Would it be considered weak ammo?
Want to have my gun run with weaker type ammo but don't have any Tula crap ammo to test it.

I have a bunch and use it for plinking. Made in Korea but it’s cheap and reliable.

PMC Bronze 55 Grain FMJ

I evaluated the accuracy (technically, the precision) of the PMC Bronze 55 grain FMJ ammunition using my 20” stainless-steel Lothar-Walther barreled AR-15.  This barrel has a 223 Wylde chamber with a 1:8” twist.

Three 10-shot groups fired in a row from the bench at a distance of 100 yards had the following extreme spreads:

2.22”
1.82”
2.15”

for a 10-shot average extreme spread of 2.06”.  The 30-shot composite group had a mean radius of 0.72”.

Unfortunately, my cocker spaniel chewed-up my chronograph data for this load.

The smallest 10-shot group . . .

So in my totally unscientific tests for PMC bronze, I'm getting about 4 o'clock ejection on a rifle that I would be getting 2:30-3 o'clock ejection with hot Lake City M193, and possibly failures to lock back on the last round with Wolf steel case.

It seems pretty middle of the road compared to the military clones but not quite as soft as your cheap range ammo.

I've never actually checked it with a chrono but shooting it back to back with XM193 the PMC Bronze does feel a little weaker. I was shooting it in my suppressed mk18 recently and it seemed like the gas to the face was reduced compared to XM193, so I guess that makes sense if it's slightly lower pressure. It's always ran fine for me in anything I tried it in.

About 8 yrs ago I tested it at 45F to be about 2800 fps

Thanks.
This is the kind of test I was looking to hear.
I put a vented set screw in the gas block and wanted to test with some weaker ammo, so I should be GTG.

I use it as a minimum velocity function test ammo from my AR's

First column is 16", second is 20", Blank spots I never got around to.
