In for answers.
I had always just ‘assumed’ all LWRC were monolithic. Bump for a pro to, show up. |

I have a 9.5in handguard I bought to replace the quadrail on my 10.5in 5.56 Government upper. Its a 6.8 spc 14.7 inch barrel. It looks just like the fat gas block you have. |

That's correct, I don't think it will work in your case

So for me learning, which model LWRC used that lower?
I’d just assumed they had always been modular but my assumptions record isn’t great. |

IN for the same question. I have an LWRCI m6 - an older one with the fatter piston (I think). Just bought and tried to fit a Fortis Rev2 rail on it,,,,and it almost fits, but doesn't.

I have a M6-SL that came stock with the Magpul MOE. What sucks is I have a fixed A2 sight that I can't stand. MOE Isn't super tactical looking but it gets the job done.

What length did you order? Might have to break out the grinder |

Same one..... I punted and bought the samson evolution rail. It fits no grinding required.

Yep, you were right. I got it today and as you said it doesn't fit. So, I just ordered the Sampson Evo key mod
Thanks again! |

Well
I ordered the Samson rail also, and it turns out mine has a weird piston and barel nut also. Talked to LWRC, they said this one was a special in between production, the old ones were done, and the new one was still being developed. I'm stuck with this quad rail. If anyone has any interest in either the Samson or the Fortis 9in rails, I have both, new, never mounted |

I just bought an M6A1 that has the traditional front sight gas block. Where can I find a low profile gas block that is compatible so I can put a longer hand guard on?

If nobody knows the answer to my previous question, is there another two-piece hand guard that isn’t a quad rail I can swap in place of the LWRC piece? I don’t mind the front sight post, but hate the quad rail. Trying to avoid grinding on the gas block. I also don’t want to have to remove the gas block every time I want to clean the piston.
