Haha, thanks. I have 23 AK74 mags too but no AK74 yet

Figured the prices would rise so I picked up as many as I could before the prices really got out of hand. Once I get a 74 I can focus on the AR a bit more.

I have six more Pmags in a Stome case, six loaded mags in an ammo box with M855, 14 loaded mags in ammo boxes with Q3131, the ammo box marked "loaded mags" is full of glock and HK mags and I have more various mags in my gun safe.

Is it just me, or does 15rds sound like an odd number? Why not 10 or 20? :-P

My collection is up to 6x PMAGs. I've got a long way to go before I'll be happy. 21 would be an ideal number for me.

...just thought I'd fix that for ya.  (And 15 is an odd sounding number.)

I've noticed there aren't many 60 and 100 rd Surefire mags stashed........high costs?

What would you rather carry for a bugout situation: S&W M&P15-22 or an AR?

My thoughts are the bullets are lighter for the .22, so I can carry more.  The weapon itself is also lighter than either of my AR's.  My main concern is .22 enough?  I know it's accurate, but what about stopping power.  One shot, one kill still applies to .22 if it's well placed.

Edited for mag pic....

I don't even have an AR...why would I have mags? I used to have an AR...I sold it years ago. Just getting around to getting another, building this time around. Even then I only had like 6 or 8 mags.

Why not? When I can pick up usgi mags for cheaper than a pack of smokes. I'm up to 177, and counting.

I have 20 mags for my FAL, 8 for my Beretta 92, and 17 20-rounders for an AR-15 that I don't yet own. I found them at a gun show yesterday so I bought all that I could afford. For $3/each, why not?

I have more than that for guns I don't even own yet

May as well stock up while the prices are decent, remember, a mag is an item that wears out with use and should be considered expendable.

that is very true but i can't put mags before food haha i gotta eat

This reasoning is how I ended up with 17 Simmonds 20-rounders, for an AR-15 I don't even own.

Here in a ban state that is true.  However if you can buy a new mag for $9, its not worth your time to work on that mag.

While I wouldn't consider them "throw away", they are something that will wear out over time, even if that is a very long time.

Well I am fucked for sure, haha...

Zombie's and Commie's will just have to be peppered with 22 then.

My AR mags add up to...

3 Troys
5 30rd Pmags
2 USGI 30rd mags
4 10rd stoner mags
3 10/20 converted Pmags...

I have spent enough in pelican cases this week to buy a case of 100, of well

We had this first sargent when I was that was from Spain. Served there for a couple years before coming here, and doing he same thing. He was always yelling " Dont just drop the god dang mag private. Youre going to be taking another one out. Eell put this one up at the same time. " He would say the manual of arms was a little different there, and to keep your mags ( of course he had a rally cool castilian accent to chew your ass with ). Could have been full of crap and lying for all I know, But I do know that I didnt wanna do iron mikes all night for not having the required number of mags on me.  Old habits die hard I guess. The mags do wear out, and break and fail. I still keep em for the spare parts.

In europe most troops are taught to retain thier mags, not drop them and keep moving like ours.

I have a mere:

10 x DSG USGI's
15 x PMAG (10 of which I just bought from DSG for $10.00 each)

I know that doesn't make me a mag whore, but I would like to think of myself as at least a little sleazy when it comes to mags...
