Tagged. I'm quite interested in this, how does it do with both eyes open? Is it similar to the mini ACOGs?

ETA: untagged. Read the other thread, probably should have done that first.

Thanks!

Is the "Gold" line made in China or this optic specifically? I know the QC/durability is supposed to be held to a higher standard either way.

Why would you want an optic like this instead of a 1-6x optic?

Exactly what you posted.

I want another couple of 1.5 ACOGs, but the price is higher than I want to outlay.

This is the price I don’t have an issue paying.

This 2X has our latest illumination technology giving true daylight illumination with a etched reticle. Brighter than any prism we test other than dual illumination Acogs.

MRW and Marshall, thanks for sharing!

Looks like an acog base for mounting options. Nice. I was wondering what the country of origin was being that it was gold product. Thanks again for disclosing that.

Thank you for also sharing that the reticle brightness is daylight bright. Very cool. I would assume that it's brighter than the SLx line of prisms?

Looks a fair bit bigger than a TA44 and it’s much heavier.

Is this weight with or without the mount? I typically use an aftermarket and lighter weight mount for acogs.

Is the reticle brighter than the SLx line of prismatic sights?

Good question.

I assumed that was with the mount attached..

I’ve used a 4x acog on my DMR-ish for a while.. but since I’ve found out its pretty accurate with the right ammo I’ve replaced the acog with a Vortex PST 2-10x.. the 4xwas a waste on a MOA gun IMHO.

Nice scope, but I have to ask the inevitable question, when will there be a 1x version?

I have their Cyclops scope.  I was wondering about a GLX-level version with a much brighter reticle.

Will the new 3X models use the same illumination technology to get similar battery life and illumination? Will they also be lighter like this one?

Received the PA email today as well.

I'm just going to guestimate the weight... 1.5 oz on the riser and 2.5 oz on the mount... so 7ish oz weight naked? I think that would be pretty darn respectable!

TA44 standard base: 5.1 oz
TA44 low base (less material) I would imagine slightly lighter.

I think I'm in for a 300blk reticle in FDE

Thank you again Marsh and all for sharing data.

*ps* for what its worth, I would have paid an extra $50 to have auto-shutoff and motion activation

So I decided that when I get that $1200 from the government I’m getting both the new 2x ACSS and the Gen III 3x.

Also is the new 3x compatible with any ADM mounts?

Apparently Swampfox is releasing a 3x prism called Trihawk that will be better than the PA prism, they all release around May timeframe.  I would hold off on any preordering until more comparisons come out, they aren't offering any benefits to a preorder unless I missed something.

I played with one of these at SHOT, and I was extremely impressed, especially with how flexible the eye relief was. I've mostly switched over to LPVOs, but it's totally a viable option for people who want the simplicity of a fixed prism optic and want to maintain a huge FOV.

Would recommend seeing if you could implement fiber optic illumination in the next generation of these.
