I keep on posting this picture.
Complete PSA upper, 16" pencil barrel, 13" handguard, Toolcraft BCG- about $320 shipped a few years ago Stripped KP15- maybe 120 with tax Lower parts from another PSA kit- maybe 40 bucks worth? Aero mount- 85 shipped Leupold 2.5x20- 150ish off here 5.8 pounds as pictured, 6.8 with a loaded 20 round pmag. I've added a Slade foregrip and a Polytac 18650 light in an Odin Works mount but haven't weighed it with those. Attached File I have a 20" Faxon Gunner that I need to build up. I'm using a regular lower that currently has an A2 stock on it. I forgot how heavy those were so I'm looking for a lightweight rifle stock. I also want a no F/A upper and a lightweight 15" rail. I'll start with my Razor HD LH 2-10. I think I can keep this at 7 pounds with optic, maybe less. Edit- realized I had a picture of when I got the lower and hadn't assembled it yet! |
|
|
Wish I could post a photo but scale says 6 Lbs. 0.2 Oz. (Without mag inserted.)

Well, I finally made it into this thread, barely.
5 lbs. 13 oz. Attached File KE Arms KP-15 monolithic polymer lower with a PTAC M4gery slickside upper and a lightweight BCG from our overlords. It actually shoots really well especially considering that I have less than $600 in it. |

Sorry for the crummy photo. Buddy brought by his scale on the way home from work. Have had this build done for a while and happy with how it turned out for the amount I have in it.
This is with fully loaded 30rd p mag and Og turbo. Attached File Attached File Without can and mag. Attached File Nbs slick side upper Nbs rail Faxon pencil barrel Vortex crossfire |

I would love to get my hands on one of those MOA rizers. Where did you get that from? Their website has been down for the past couple of weeks.

I just received my 13" Fostech Mach-2 Lite rail. On my food scale it weighs 5.4 ounces with barrel nut and all installation hardware. I was truly surprised.
My Fighter lite receiver set weighs 10.2 total for the upper and lower. Pretty crazy total of 15.6 ounces |

is that a smoke rail on the front? The cutouts seem different than mine.
Sweet looking machine there |

It’s made by Smoke for BAD. This version is a hair lighter if I recall correctly.

@brachiosaur
How do you like that fixed Leupold? It's the 2.5x, FX-II, right? I'm REALLY considering it for a .308. Also, how's that suburban running? I just put a new LM7 into a 2000 with the barn doors. I love it. |
|
|
Yes it's the 2.5x FX-II, I really like it (the scope, not the Sub )! Glass is nice and clear and I can shoot with both eyes open. I have the +2" Aero mount but the +1" would have been fine. I want to buy one or two more; one for a lever gun* and maybe one for the second KP15 I bought recently. I have another PSA 16" upper that I don't love; considering re-barreling it with a Faxon Gunner and sticking it on that KP15. With the same setup (flashlight and mount, 2.5x and mount, sling) it'll probably be close to 6.5 pounds so out of the running for this thread.

Figured ya'll might be able to help me out in here as I hear the OG KMR magnesium rails are on the lighter side and sought after.
What's a 13" Magnesium KMR rail worth these days? |

Anyone happen to know the weight on these uppers from PSA? @PalmettoStateArmory @JJE
Link to pencil weight upper @$389.00 with BCG/CH Seems like it would be a great cheapo upper to pair with a KP-15. |

I’m not sure what the weight of the upper is, but if a colt pencil barrel carbine is under 6, which it is, I don’t see how that set up could possibly be over. Looking forward to seeing your build.

I will say the NiB BCG in my older one feels nicer though that could be the stock breaking in. This is a backup/iron sight rifle, it functions and is mostly sighted in. Attached File |

With a Magpul stock and grip on a PSA SNEK lower w/PSA lower kit, MBT-2S trigger, UTG M-LOK sling mount & swivel, silent sling, and PA red dot it weighed 6 lb. 8 oz. Found a crappy picture of the AR. It had a slightly different lightweight handguard than the upper PSA has on sale now. Attached File |

Finally received the PSA pencil weight upper I bought 2 weeks ago. Guess they are super busy with orders.
Kinda disappointed in the barrel. It’s kinda a in between pencil weight and medium weight. Think a few Oz could be shaved off for sure. Here is it compared to my faxon pencil in the camo. Attached File The build quality is very nice and really like the rail. Although a carbon fiber would be lighter in weight. With kp15 naked 5.7lbs on my bathroom scale. Attached File With 3-9x40 scope 7lbs And 7.9 fully loaded Attached File And how I plan on using it with thermal. 6.3lbs Attached File |
