Just a wandering curiosity of mine as I was browsing some gunstuff...with a rise of a guy peddling fake early Colt 601-era 'fathead'-style firing pins on GB and in other places people reportedly paying north of $200 for one of these, I couldn't help but remark the similarity in profile between a good ol' Browning M2's firing pin to this design...if one cut the length of the firing pin down to size, without any additional re-profiling needed, could a M2HB firing pin be made to work inside an AR-15's bolt?

No way, an M2 firing pin is huge. By the time you removed enough material to make it fit you might as well have turned one from scratch.

Yeah i was going to say the same.

The .50 cal firing pin is massive. Kinda like how .50 cal. is basically just a scaled up version of .30-06 (except the M2 came before the AR and the firing pins have no relation lol). That might give an idea of the scale though
