[Last Edit: IIRC]

To whom it may concern,
I wanted to voice my displeasure with one of your products, the bandit release.  Let me preface this by saying that for the last seven years I have used one of your release's, unfortunately the release was lost in a recent move.  Upon finding out I lost my release I decided to purchase another one of your releases, the bandit.  At first I was a little put off by it's appearance and cheap feel but I was sold on your product in the past so decided to give the release a try .  I removed the release from its package, did nothing more than strap the release to my wrist, and nocked my first arrow  I began to pull back my Matthews z7 set at 70 pounds, approximately 1/4 of the way back the release let loose sending my arrow down range to god knows where and my fist on a collision course with my eye socket.  At this point I thought this mishap was pure operator error.  I convinced myself that I had my finger in front of the trigger and I was at fault (something I have never done in my 15+ years of shooting).  So I nocked another arrow, started to pull back and what do you think happened next?....wait for it...  the release let loose to early!...at least this time my suspicions were raised and I didn't deck myself or lose my arrow.  Now I do have to wonder....there is a big white sticker on the release that says tested for 100 lbs...I think someone is slacking on there job...at max I was pulling 35-45lbs when your release broke.  I do however know how you "beat" your competition....you let them shoot your release before tournaments and they beat the piss out of themselves when they tried to pull there bows back.... a very clever plan I must say.  Well needless to say tomorrow I am returning the release to the store and exchanging it for a cobra or a scott.  No way will I ever trust another one of your products in a deer stand....maybe if I get into boxing I'll pick one up.  Thanks for the headache, the black eye, and the $20 bucks in gas I waisted/ will waist returning you craptastic product.
VR,
Sakotrg24

it just seems really weird...a lot of there new releases seem really cheap and poorly made.  I still hear great reviews about the company but how a release gets out the door not being able to hold 35-40 lbs is beyond me.

I would be curious to see what they say back to that

I have seen many people do that with releases of all makes. There should be an adjustment on it to fix it.

I have seen people pull a release and hit the trigger on accident, I have also seen people who screw wit there release to lighten up the trigger have early releases.  When I took back the  release to the sporting goods store the pro-shop guy was skeptical it was the release as well, his words "you messed with the set screw didn't you?"....to witch I replied no....he gave me a ,your full shit look and proceeded to tighten the screw and the screw literally disintegrated...he looked up and said "huh, you didn't f^%& with the set screw, I'll be damned".  I promptly got a store credit and purchased a cobra release.
Happy ending I suppose...at least I have a release that works.  Wonder if I will hear from TRU ball?

After reading that letter, I would really be surprised if they did answer you.  While it could have been an inferior product, you would have gotten more out of it by not being antagonistic in your communications with the company.  Just my 2 cents.

the way Tru Ball has their trigger set up it will fire when the poundage limit it's set at is reached. There is a small allen screw underneath the trigger that needs to be turned to increase/decrease the trigger poundage, but that also dictates the max poundage the bow can be set at. The lighter you want the trigger pull the lighter the draw weight needs to be. This is my one grip with their releases and is the main reason I ditched them after 14yrs and went to a Scott.

Tru Ball is a local company to where I am. I know them to have excellent customer service and would have liked to have seen you contact them directly as I know they would have taken care of you. I have been using the same Tru ball release for more than 20 years without any issues whatsoever. Things happen and every company has a bad day once in awhile.
