Fuck me dead, bows and shit are expensive as fuck here. Things are about 40% more expensive than the US...including shipping from the US. Targets are particularly expensive here, and being a tightarse, I want to make my own to save on costs.
I don't have a ton of time, and I am fucking useless at handywork, so those awesome layered carpet targets are out of the question for now. I don't have the time to collect random pieces of rags and plastic and other shit, so stuffed bag targets are out as well. What I do have is old carpet.
I bought some high density foam tile squares from the local hardware shop. They are those foam squares that you put on the floor, like tiles, in gyms and yoga places and kiddy play areas and stuff. Bought 4x 4packs for $10 each. Each square is about 2ftx2ft and 1cm thick, which gives me about 16cm (half a foot) of foam tile.
I intend to cut squares of carpet and layer it with the foam tiles. I was thinking of something like: 4 layers of carpet:4 foam tiles:4carpet:4foam:4carpet:4foam:4carpet:4foam. I would shoot into the flat side of the target, so it would have 32 layers to penetrate.
What do you all think of this?
