They look like fancy schmancy take-down recurves.

I looked up the riser Wilkins was using - CD Archery WF27 ($1250)

Are there entry level barebow risers?

How is barebow different than your average takedown recurve?

I kinda want, but thats a lot of money for shooting in the back yard. If I spend that kinda cash I'm gonna have to get serious and consider competing.

There are "beginner" set ups but they still aren't cheap.  Go to Lancaster Archery's website and you can find bow options. They can also answer your questions if you contact them.  It's their competition after all.  

I was interested in the barebow division but I quickly realized there was no way I could afford even the beginner bows.
