So obviously the top rail and the handguard are new on the MII, but is there any difference to the receiver, barrel, or any other part?

Presumably if folks have an older A3 SA and steyr releases just the hand guard does that mean they basically can upgrade to the MII?

The a3sa and the m1 recievers are different.

The he m1 had the qd point in the front, the a3sa does not.

Yeah. I’m aware of the M1 being different but in this thread I’m asking about the M2 (the new one they just launched in Europe):

Appreciate the response though!

If anyone is interested in more details TFB posted a longer video of it here:

From what I gathered it will be an A3 SA receiver just without the side rail and with a new top rail and handguard.

I hope they offer this rail as an upgrade for those who already have A3's.

In the video I think the Steyr guy said if you have an A3 M1, the aftermarket will make something. Steyr will not.

In the video he did say that it can be put on the older Aug A3 SA receivers though so there might be an upgrade kit available.  It was for Europe.
