Got a cherry IDF re-arsenal 98k coming my way in .308.

Going to actually choot it and want to see if anyone has run a modern style sling on it?

If not, who makes the best repro sling to pick up?

SARCO also sell a leather sling with 98K pattern.

Not really… There was a guy that used to make fantastic repro slings for Mauser rifles that made one for a Chilean Modelo 1912 for me… Best repro sling I’ve ever seen. I contacted him about making one for a K98 I picked up about 5 years ago and unfortunately by that time he had retired.

Since I don't have mine in hand yet, wonder if yall can help.

- size of front sling loop (ex: 1")
- width of K98 sling

I'd love to convert a spare BFG sling I have and wondering what it would take to modify it to work.

That would be pretty easy: thread the front of the BFG sling into the front stock band/sling mount. As for the rear, fashioning a Mauser-style keeper that is held in the stock cutout could be done from a variety of materials. If you don't want to do that, I like the U-Loop. Might work for your application.

Similar train of thought! I have spare U-loops. Also considered sewing on a mauser-style keeper to one end.

Will play with it next week when it gets here!
