What specifically are you trying to accomplish, and how "much" do you need it to be a PVS-14? One could make the argument that the housing is what makes it a PVS-14, so if you change the housing, it's no longer a PVS-14, but again that kind of depends on exactly what it is you're wanting / trying to do and will inform what recommendations I and others may be able to give you.

The AN/PVS-18, for example, is a monocular system that uses integral dovetail shoes that are built into / directly attached to the housing body, and therefore does not use any sort of J-Arm. But not only are they long discontinued (though they pop up used from time to time, and you could theoretically swap out the tube with a more modern tube if you wanted), they aren't really a "14" in many ways that most people would recognize (almost no parts commonality besides using an 18MM tube and AA battery)--it's more of a "half-PVS-15."

Or, depending on how you're defining "J-Arm," the Norotos Dual Dovetail adapter isn't really an arm, it is more of a "pedestal" with two dovetail does attached, similar in format actually to the AN/PVS-18.

Both these devices can be directly mounted to a standard BNVS mount and used "normally" in a head / helmet mounted configuration.

Finally--if you're talking about the KAC / RQE Vyper and not the Photonis re-branded Katana, the Vyper actually uses the KAC / RQE "Bottom Oriented" Obverse Shoe, which is theoretically "available" for any PVS-14 (but KAC has been extremely unreliable about fulfilling orders, i.e., multiple years between deliveries / almost may as well not exist, but you could theoretically dig up on the second-hand market) which is a direct dovetail mount, however it would does not provide the necessary offset / would still need an adapter arm of some sort for helmet mounting, as it would mount directly in the center of the eyes, which may or may not be what you are after.

Again, depends on what you're trying to do.

Yes, I believe the DDA is a great option if you don't want to deal with J-Arm interfaces--while on the one hand, I think other than the notoriously poor USGI J-Arm, good, modern, improved J-Arms like the ones from Wilcox or NoiseFighters can work great, I also understand the general desire to not use them / use a different method of attachment, especially if your confidence in them has been shaken by using the ITT "horn" mount.

As for the terminology, again, my intent was not to nitpick or play the "well ackshully" game over semantics, but having a clear idea of what you're trying to do is always helpful in making relevant recommendations--the last thing I'd want to do is to go down a rabbit hole with a potential solution based on what I think you want, only for you to come back and say "cool story bro, that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about."

More specifically to the "14" terminology, I've found over the years that depending on an individual's level of knowledge and experience (we all started somewhere!), the generic term "14" or "PVS-14" can refer to anything from only the as-issued, MIL-SPEC AN/PVS-14, distinguished even from, say an old ITT 6015 system with no manual gain, or they could be using the term as a generic reference to any and all monocular night vision devices. Not knowing which end of the spectrum you might be there was why I requested clarification.
