Just curious as I'm in the market for a new 22, what does this bring to the table that the Ruger 10/22 does not?

Sadly not made anymore

But off top of head

Built in Pict rail
Ghost ring sights with fiber optic front
Threaded barrel
Magpul stock
Hole on back of receiver for cleaning rod
Magazine design to hold last round open (mag from TC is junk)
Slingshot bolt without modification

Yup, I only paid $250 for mine, it feels like a 10/22 that you spent another several hundred dollars on upgrading. It was a terrific value.

That's the "slingshot bolt" I mentioned

They should have included the storage in the stock. It's the perfect size for three 10rd mags or a .22 suppressor.

Swapped the hunter for the new moe and losing a lb couldn’t feel better.  Excellent stock for the money.

I was looking or a 10/22 during the rona and couldn't find anything at a reasonable price for months. Gun counter guy tried to sell me one and I passed - assumed that the cheap Crimson Trace optic ad being made by S&W meant it would surely be a dud. Eventually gave in and resigned myself to buying one and changing whatever was needed because of the receiver features. Haven't touched a thing on it parts wise. The trigger isn't great (also isn't terrible) but that is easy to fix, barrel is accurate, peep sight is good, etc. If Ruger would have done the common sense stuff the aftermarket was doing from the factory the TC/R22 would never have been made - but of course Ruger is content to make mediocre rimfires as long as they keep selling. It is an outstanding value pick and it is a shame that they're gone.

That and QD sockets (or at least the holes to add them) are the only two things I can think of that would have made it perfect.

Guns.com is showing two different models as available right now, someone must have had some old stock somewhere.  guns.com

The stock is probably the weakest reason to buy a TCR22. The rifle is so damned good its better than every 10/22 that isn’t a full house custom job. If you wanted to duplicate the feature set of the TCR it would probably cost you $1000. Im pretty sure the bolt is nickel teflon. The trigger is better than a BX, the receiver is drilled to clean from the breach. Cold hamer forged barrel, threaded, peep sight, pic rail forged in, sling studs, mlok slots, last round bolt hold open.

Its the best mass produced 10/22 that ever existed. Ruger should be ashamed of themselves for still not being able to put out as good of a rifle.

I asked this in the TCR22 thread that was above this earlier. But this seems like a larger audience. What has been everyone's experience with the stocks sling swivels? I wanted to use one for a Appleseed build. That requires using the sling positionally. Which can cause a lot of force on a plastic swivel. Has anyone broken one before?

I've never had an issue with the plastic studs for the sling swivels. I like these so much I put a few away NIB for later. My main one is a starling laser. I probably kill one a day off my purple martin house.

I've shot a lot of Appleseed and never had trouble with slinging up tight.
