Is a wood stock with speckled paint job?
Or a synthetic stock painted brown with speckled paint?

Or a hogue rubber molded type stock?

Based on the spec sheet HERE, the stock is painted hardwood.  Which would be like any other hardwood stocks.  Maybe they do this because the wood grain is butt ugly or has defects that are filled with epoxy so they apply the speckled paint.  The synthetic and Hogue stocks do not use the stock reinforcement and screws at the mag well, only the forearm heat shield.

Yes I’ve read the same description but have seen it listed as synthetic hardwood on another site.

I too assumed it was to hide a crummy wood stock.
