I had 2 of these. My opinion is that it was a huge improvement over a mid '90s express. I found nothing wrong with it. I thought it was comical that when these were at Wal-Mart the tag said Remington since that was the parent company, or owned by same parent company.

I could be wrong on this, but I believe the same gun is still being sold by a company called Blue Line Solutions. Classic firearms just sent out an email about it in the last week or so.

It's heavy and feels like it's built like a tank. The weight seems to cut down on recoil.

I got one on clearance from Walmart, the home defense model. $130. Pretty nice shotgun for the money. Bored during covid19, I shot hundreds of rounds through mine no issues.

Yes, the barrel ring is further out from the breach.  You can run 870 barrels on these & the "Hawk" shotguns if you make a shim between the Remington barrel ring & the barrel nut, think you can use a short length of PVC pipe.

They are a decent 870 copy.  The Hawk 982s were also nice for the money.

I just picked up a "JTS" Chinese 870 pump X12PT for $89 for my son.  It was used, and the owner lost a spring - easy fix.

It is a Chinese 870 clone - Not as good as the Hawk or NEF but decent for the $100 price point.  PSA was clearing them out at $120 a few months ago.

I got an inexpensive Hogue 870 stock set off the EE as the furniture that comes with it is not great.

Hurricane Butterfly in Idaho had some security models w/o irons and with a Pic rail on the receiver.

I’m a Pardner pump fan and would snatch up any I find at $150.

I have a Pardner pump with the 18" barrel I got for $100 OTD from the LGS. I installed a Speedfeed forend, AT3 red dot, XS Big Dot sight, Wilson Combat Big Dome Safety and a Mesa Tactical sidesaddle. It shoots very well.

My Pardner pump needed to be pumped very hard or it wouldn't pick up a shell from the magazine tube.  Wound up selling it years ago because of this.

I just did this on a Chinese 870 clone as it was a little rougher than I would like and it was essentially new.  Can use a polishing or lapping compound on the action bars working the action to polish and some 400+ grit sandpaper on them and or polishing with a Dremel tool - clean and lube usually slicks it up quick.  Remove and examine the left and right shell latches -and how the surfaces of the action bar hits them - and if it's rough or needs smoothing out.

Some are rougher than others as it seems some edges are cleaned up better than others in the factory is my observation - but almost always a fixable situation.

Or replace with Remington parts.

I picked up a couple years ago on clearance at Walmart for 89.00 each, mine are the 18.5” models, both work fine.
