Hey guys, I am having an issue with my rifle.
Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor.
When I purchased the rifle, I immediately changed it to the Magpul American hunter. Rifle shot great. Maybe 50 rounds? I decided to swap out the muzzle device. Removed the rifle from the Magpul Hunter Stock. Changed the muzzle device. Installed the rifle back into the stock. Now the rifle will not feed from the mag. If I add tension by pulling the mag down without pressing the mag release, it works fine. What could be the problem?

Did you torque the action screws to spec?

Yes, I did. 55 in lbs per Magpul.

Maybe check the bottom metal screws for the magwell?

Sounds like you lost the two standoffs that go between the action and the stock, and are drilled for the action screws.

Nope. The V blocks are there and they are not specific on how they are installed. Checked all the screws and torque. All good.
Magpul says the stock is not compatible with the Ruger American Predator with rotary mag. Honestly don’t know which mag was original. It was the 4 round flush mount mag.
Problem is it worked perfect before I took it apart.
Guess I will have to take it to a gunsmith or get another stock.

It’s definitely only supposed to be used with AICS mags.

Yeah, nothing on their website says it is not compatible.
I guess I will buy a new stock. Guess will look at Boyds for a inexpensive stock.

Or you could just buy AICS mags.
